24 Hour Locksmith in Cancun | Nights, Sundays and Holidays

24 hour locksmith in Cancun: door lock lit by a flashlight at night

Nothing about this trade happens at a convenient hour. Doors shut behind people at two in the morning, keys vanish on the last night of a holiday, and shop shutters jam at six a.m. when the owner arrives to open. Roughly a third of our calls come in between ten at night and seven in the morning, and a good share of the rest land on Sundays and public holidays.

This page exists because 'open 24 hours' is a claim a lot of listings make and few honour. Plenty of numbers ring at three in the morning and nobody picks up; others pick up, take your address, and never arrive. What you actually want to know is whether a real person answers, in a language you speak, and whether the price they quote at three in the morning is the price you will be asked to pay.

The answer to both is yes, and the second one is the part worth putting in writing: the night surcharge is $200 to $400 pesos, it is quoted as part of the total before the technician leaves, and it does not change when he arrives and sees that you have no alternatives.

Why this matters at 3 a.m.

A person answers, in English

No answering machine, no callback queue, no app. At the hour when you are least equipped to negotiate in a second language, you get someone who speaks yours.

The night price is quoted, not discovered

The surcharge is stated on the phone as part of one total figure. The oldest trick in emergency trades is the low daytime quote that acquires a night rate, a distance charge and a difficulty fee once the van is outside your door and it is raining.

Nights are dispatched by urgency

If there is a child or a pet inside, a stove left on, or a flight to catch, say so when you call. Those calls go first. It costs nothing extra and it is the only thing that reorders the queue.

Holidays and high season included

Christmas, New Year, Semana Santa and the weeks when the city doubles in size. The surcharge is the same as any other night — high season does not have its own price.

How we work

  1. Step 1 · Call, do not message

At night, call. Messages get answered too, but a phone call is minutes faster and at 3 a.m. minutes are what you are buying.

  2. Step 2 · Say what is urgent

Someone or something inside, a flight, a medical reason. It changes the dispatch order.

  3. Step 3 · You get one total figure

Service plus surcharge plus distance, quoted as a single number in pesos and dollars, before anyone leaves.

  4. Step 4 · The technician arrives and confirms

Same figure, said out loud, before any tool comes out of the bag.

  5. Step 5 · Pay when it is done

Card, pesos or dollars. Nothing is taken up front, at any hour.

Frequently asked questions about 24 hour emergency locksmith

Do you really answer at 3 a.m.?

Yes, every night of the year, and in English. If the line is engaged it is because someone else is being dispatched — call again in a minute rather than assuming nobody is there.

How much is the night surcharge?

Between $200 and $400 pesos, about $12 to $23, from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. and on Sundays and public holidays. It is included in the single figure quoted on the phone.

Is it cheaper to wait until morning?

By the surcharge, yes. If you have somewhere safe to sleep and nothing is at risk inside, waiting is a legitimate option and we will tell you so. If there is a pet, a child, medication or a stove on, do not wait.

Do you work on Christmas and New Year?

Yes, at the standard holiday surcharge. Those two nights and the week of Semana Santa are among the busiest of the year.

How long at night versus during the day?

Usually faster. There is no traffic on the boulevard at 3 a.m., so a Hotel Zone call that takes forty minutes at 6 p.m. can take twenty-five at night.

Can you come to a resort at night?

Yes, but security will need to be told. At night the gate is stricter and a technician who is not expected does not get in.

We call back in under 5 minutes.

Areas we cover: Hotel Zone, Downtown Cancun, Puerto Cancún marina, Airport & rental car lots, Puerto Juárez & the ferry, Playa Mujeres, Costa Mujeres, Isla Mujeres, Puerto Morelos, The Regiones.
