Car Locksmith in Cancun | Lockouts, Lost Keys & Chip Keys

Locking the keys in the car happens far more often than anyone admits, and in Cancun it happens in very specific places: the beach club parking at Playa Delfines, the airport rental lots, the Plaza Las Américas garage, and every pull-off on Kukulcan Boulevard where somebody stopped 'for one photo'.
There are three separate jobs here. Opening the car when the keys are inside. Cutting and programming a new key when it is lost or broken, immobiliser included. And repairing or replacing the ignition lock when the key no longer turns.
Rental cars are a large share of this work, and the situation is nearly always the same: the key is gone, the agency is at the airport, and the quote for a replacement plus recovery is eye-watering. In most cases cutting a new key where the car is standing is faster and cheaper than waiting for a tow truck that has to cross the city first.
Why call us for your car
No broken windows, ever
A wedge and a rod on the door frame, with the lock left alone. On cars with electric locks the button is pressed from inside without touching the module. Breaking glass costs more than the entire service and there is no situation in Cancun that requires it.
Chip keys cut and programmed at the car
The van carries the cutting and programming equipment. The car does not go anywhere and you do not wait on the dealership to order a blank. For most makes the key is finished and working where the car is parked.
We do rental cars
We need the rental agreement and your passport or licence; with those we can open it or cut a key. Telling the rental company is sensible, but the job does not depend on them sending anyone. If you are on a schedule — a flight, a checkout — say so when you call.
We come to the car
Mall garage, street, beach parking, hotel, resort or highway inside the municipality. There is no need to move the vehicle or pay for a tow to get it to a workshop.
How we work
Step 1 · Give us make, model and year
These three decide whether the key has a chip, what kind of programming it needs and what it costs. Any price quoted without them is invented.
Step 2 · Opening and keys are quoted separately
You get both numbers before the van leaves, in pesos and dollars.
Step 3 · We come to where the car is
If it is in a gated lot or a resort garage, tell the gate a locksmith is coming.
Step 4 · We confirm the car is yours
Registration, invoice or rental agreement, plus your ID. No vehicle is opened without it.
Step 5 · We open or program, then test
With a new key we test the ignition and the central locking before taking payment.
